Crafting Apps by ArtCraft: download guide

Get your installer from the app's official website or its storytold GitHub Releases page. This guide helps you choose the package and check it before installation.

Latest official Crafting App releases

Open an app guide for exact filenames and its platform instructions. The table links only to official download sources.

Which file should you pick?

Every type below occurs in the supplied release assets. Match the architecture label to your computer; do not assume an x64 package works on an ARM device. Each app's README controls its installation instructions and requirements.

TypeUseWhat to check
.dmgmacOS desktop appUniversal builds cover Apple silicon and Intel. READMEs label these builds signed and notarized.
.msiWindows installerx64, arm64 or x86; required privileges differ by app.
-portable.zipWindows portable buildUnpack and run; settings behavior is documented per app.
.AppImageLinux app without a package-manager installationProcessor architecture, executable permission and app-specific desktop integration.
.AppImage.zsyncAppImage update dataA companion for AppImageUpdate, not the standalone app.
.debDebian/Ubuntu packageDistribution and architecture compatibility.
.rpmFedora/RHEL/openSUSE packageDistribution and architecture compatibility.
.flatpakSandboxed Linux bundleRuntime setup and sandbox behavior; the launcher has special limitations.
.tar.gzLinux or FreeBSD unpacked filesRuntime libraries and install steps. RISC-V builds have separate requirements.
CLI .zip / .tar.gzCommand-line toolNot the desktop installer; availability varies by app.
Web .zipStatic WebAssembly buildHost on a static server. The launcher web build is a download catalog.

For the suite, ArtCraft Launcher chooses packages automatically. For one app, its guide lists all current snapshotted files and links to the full README.

How to verify SHA256SUMS.txt

The snapshotted releases include SHA256SUMS.txt. Use it from the same official release as your installer.

  1. Download your chosen package and that release's checksum file from the official Releases page.
  2. Use a local SHA-256 hashing tool to calculate the digest of the downloaded package.
  3. Find the exact package filename in the checksum file and compare the full digest.
  4. If the digest differs, do not install that file. Download it again from the official source and investigate before proceeding.

A matching checksum checks that your file matches the published file; it does not establish that the software is bug-free. ArtCraft Launcher's README says it checks release SHA-256 digests before installing.

No hashing commands are reproduced here because the supplied READMEs do not provide a general cross-platform checksum command.

Beware of unofficial download sites

Use getartcraft.com and the app's repository under github.com/storytold. Check the address before downloading. Avoid repackaged installers or sites that ask you to install extra software to obtain a Crafting App.

Read platform warnings in the app's README. This guide does not mirror binaries, certify downloads or promise that alpha software is ready for your workflow.
